words of wisdom from leo tolstoy

Art is a human activity having for its purpose the transmission to others of the highest and best feelings to which men have risen.

Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved!

Love is life. All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.

A writer is dear and necessary for us only in the measure of which he reveals to us the inner workings of his very soul.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

Joy can be real only if people look on their life as a service, and have a definite object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness.

There is only one time that is important — NOW! It is the most important time because it is the only time that we have any power.

heey.

it's been over a year since i updated.

i could give a detailed account of what i've been up to the past twelve months.

but it would pretty much end up being a book.

one full of drama at that.

and who wants to read that?

not me.

=]

so i think i'll just say that it's been a crazy ride.

the only reason i'm even updating is because i'm sick and insanely bored.

but i've kinda missed blogging so i might update more than once a year from now on.

i don't know.

but everyone should get a myspace.

it's grrrreat.

add me if you're already on.

peace out.

:EDIT:

in case you're wondering, victoria made this background for me. she's working on a lyt. to go with it. but yeah, check out her lyt. site. el clicko...

:UNEDIT:

hello meus amicus. (latin for "my friends." i think i got the grammar wrong, but who really cares.)

so. school today was rather lame. i really don't like science. argh, oh well. colin kept making me laugh. then i got in trouble. haha, what he said was very funny. goodness gracious. i was in a very talkative mood today. aside from that, the day was kinda boring. hey did anyone notice that that one table of like 6/7th graders had a potluck today at lunch? weird.

i just got back from helping at this little theater boot-camp thingy for the kids at our church who are doing the speking parts in the musical. was a very, um, entertaining way to spend the evening. it was weird seeing all my friend's little siblings doing our jobs - being the major hams who think they're amazing. haha. man, when i did children's musicals, i totally though we rocked everyone's socks. wow.

so, i think i've decided not to do "fiddler on the roof." i was going to, but it's right as school lets out, and there would be several things i'd miss out on. it's also a musical, and i'm not super into singing. i'd much rather act or play my violin. i dunno, i still might do it. has anyone else thought about trying out?

i'm getting kinda bored with xanga. oh well, i'm not going to shut down my site. i'll probably use it more for commenting than updating.

later loves.

:EDIT:

hey, ya know how magazines always say to rinse your hair in cold water to make it shine? well i just did, and my hair is super shiny. just thought i'd share.

mainly to get out of science homework.

oh well, enough procrastination. last friday, i had to get up @ 6 to finish all my h/w. it really sucks that i don't have a study hall period, cuz i would finish it there. oh well.

laters.

:UNEDIT:

hey peeps.

just got back from orchestra, and...

*drumroll please*

i made concertmaster!

ya, in my audition, i scored 99 out of a possible 100, so i'm pretty thrilled. and it was all sight-reading, which i'm not usually so great at.

k well, i gots to go.

just had to share my joy!

laters.
